A Reading From The Blog According to Luke?

Who would've expected that 82 year-old Pope Benedict XVI would be telling priests to use the internet "astutely" by writing blogs and using new forms of communications to spread the gospel message.

Hey, I wouldn't lie about the Pope - I couldn't handle the guilt!

But seriously, in his message during the Roman Catholic Church's World Day of Communications this past Saturday, the Pope said,  "Priests are challenged to proclaim the Gospel by employing the latest generation of audio-visual resources, images, videos, animated features, blogs and websites which alongside traditional means, can open up broad new vistas for dialogue..."

This foward-thinking comes from a man who still writes his speeches by hand and has his assistants surf the web for him. But this is more forward-thinking than I would have ever expected.

When you come to think of it, weren't the Gospels of the apostles very blog-like?

Did he really say 'blog'? That seems so odd to me.

Yep-that's a direct quote. Although the words probably came from a speech writer.

Hey, this is Robert. Just stumbled upon your blog and I find quite interesting stuffs out here ! I wasn't really aware of this speech by the Pope. However, if this is what the Pope has said, I appreciate it very much. Like your blog too!

But I agree with our POPE.

Social Media is a great tool for spreading the good news of GOD.
